The gang from The Pole made it back to the house in Berkeley together with Leroy and Miriam in time to get Mr. Claus sent off to do his thing. Liz and Mrs. Claus had decorated the house with lots of colored lights and bought hundreds of electric candles for inside. Even Peanut got a Christmas collar with dancing lights.
Kasper adjusted to life with William and Liz in about ten seconds- he was content as long as someone was petting him or he had a comfy place to sleep. Rather unexpectedly Peanut took a liking to the cat from day one and they hadn’t yet had any problems.
Miriam left with Benjamin without mentioning one more word about what happened to Lenny. They both seemed happy and if they were “not that kind of friends” as she had mentioned it sure didn’t show on their faces. In a weird way the events of the last two days had brought them closer together.
Mrs. Claus had braved the Christmas crowds at the dispensary and had filled up the cookie jar. They were ready for surviving a lockdown holiday season.
