“This will ruin my reputation,” said Mr. Claus.
“True,” said Cailleach.
“Why do you want to do this to my marriage and my good name?” said Mr. Claus.
“Winter belongs to me and it always has. You are a Johnny Come Lately and to make things worse you are working as a private detective in California, where they don’t even have real winter. And this Christmas thing is just a holiday hustle for you,” said Cailleach.
“If that is the case then why couldn’t I have just broadcasted a message supporting you instead of the approach you have taken?”
She shook her head and said, “You don’t understand today’s media, do you? Living in Berkeley you probably smoke too much weed and only read print media.”
“So you’ve been there, huh?”
“I’ve heard rumors and that’s enough for an old-fashioned Scottish girl like me,” she said.
“As a matter of fact I am fairly active on social media for my so-called holiday hustle but try to keep out of the public eye the rest of year.”
“But your image is synonymous with capitalism and greed,” said Cailleach.
“Man, I can’t help what Hollywood and Coca-Cola do with my image,” said Mr. Claus.
“And, we’ll see what they do with these new images,” said Cailleach with a smile.
“So you’re just using me for my body and my image,” said Mr. Claus.
