William nodded at Leroy and said, “Great to see you, buddy.”
“Send Liz my best,” said Leroy.
“Long time no see. Good to see both of you are looking fit and ready to go,” said Mr. Claus.
After many holiday seasons together, William and Leroy had agreed to work for Mr. and Mrs. Claus in their new venture at Aardvark Detective Agency.
“So how’s business?” asked Leroy.
“It’s going a bit slow but we have an exciting case,” said Mr. Claus.
“A bit slow? This is our first case boys,” said Mrs. Claus and took a sip of her bourbon.
“But it’s not our first rodeo,” said William.
“Amen to that,” said Leroy.
“So, we have a case that just doesn’t smell right. You know what I mean?” said Mr. Claus.
“Run it by us,” said William.
Mr. Claus explained the visit by Oleander and her situation with help and color from Mrs. Claus.
“She lyin’,” said Leroy
“You didn’t even meet her,” said Mr. Claus.
“Don’t have to. No police means she definitely leaving something out,” said Leroy.
“Give us her name, the sister’s name and Mr. Rainbow Sherbert’s address,” said William.
“Rainbow Sherbert. Is that shit for real?” asked Leroy.
“Appears so,” said Mrs. Claus.
She gave them all of the information they needed and without further adieu they headed toward the door.
“And boys no scalps or anything like that,” said Mr. Claus.
“At least for now,” said Mrs. Claus and took a sip of her bourbon.
