Mrs. Claus put down the phone and clapped a couple of times to wake up Mr. Claus, who was taking a nap at his desk.
“Good morning, Mr. Sleepy Head. That was Otto on the phone,” said Mrs. Claus.
Mr. Claus sat up slowly and shook his head.
“He knows where Rainbow Sherbert is hiding out.”
“And did you talk to Don Julio?”
“While you were asleep, my beauty. We had a most interesting conversation,” said Mrs. Claus.
“How interesting?” Asked Mr. Claus.
“Breakthrough interesting. Between Don Julio, Otto and a deeper dive into Rainbow Sherbert’s internet presence I could pretty much put together the pieces of this strange puzzle,” said Mrs. Claus.
“So what’s going on?”
“The master detective is not supposed to ask the secretary,” said Mrs. Claus playfully.
“Secretary? You’re my Watson,” said Mr. Claus.
“So true, so true,” said Mrs. Claus with a smile.
“You’re not going to tell me then,” said Mr. Claus.
“Believe me you will enjoy it much more as it unfolds,” said Mrs. Claus.
“Man, if this were a book I would close it and put it back on the shelf,” said Mr. Claus.
“Then we’re lucky it’s real life. Get ready we are going to meet Don Julio in 15 minutes,” said Mrs. Claus.
“Yes, ma’am,” said Mr. Claus with a mock salute.
