“Guess who just wrote?” Asked Mrs. Claus.
“Santa,” said William and laughed at his own joke.
Mrs. Claus shook her head and said, “It wouldn’t be the first time he wrote when I was on the other side of the room, but, no, Don Julio. He must have written at the same time I did.”
“What did he want?” asked Mr. Claus.
“He’s also wondering about Mr. Sherbert,” said Mrs. Claus.
“I guess we need to check out Otto’s tip on the taqueria on Solano. I volunteer to case the joint and ensure that their tacos meet the minimum quality standard,” said Leroy with a smile.
“Lengua, baby,” said William.
“Gotta like it with more tongue,” said Leroy with a smile.
“Alright, alright, enough with the locker room talk. Let’s get back to Rainbow Sherbert,” said Mr. Claus.
“What are Don Julio and the other Joes doing?” asked William.
“Also looking for a place to start. The other Joes are Paloma and Goldie, apparently. They do the work and Don Julio is more of a computer expert. Should I tell them about the taqueria?” asked Mrs. Claus.
“Definitely. But ask them to keep out of sight as they will be easy to spot,” said Leroy.
“Easier than you two?” asked Mr. Claus.
“Does being seen matter at this point? He knows you were tailing him so he must know something is up. He just can’t hide forever. And he needs to eat,” said Mrs. Claus.
“And what about Bijou- Oleander’s sister?” asked Mr. Claus.
“As we discussed before I think she’s a witch,” said William.
“But you haven’t seen her,” said Mr. Claus.
“Yes, but something is up with Mr. Rainbow Sherbert and Bijou. And I think it’s something to do with witchcraft,” said William.
“All we needed in all of this was one more weirdo in Berkeley,” said Mrs. Claus and took a sip of her bourbon.
